A recent CBC series is investigating the impact of intimate partner violence in Canada, and has found that victims often have no where to go when looking for shelter after an incident.

According to Statistics Canada, intimate partner violence makes up nearly one-third of all police-reported violent crime. Conflicting definitions of domestic violence and the divided jurisdiction causes victims to suffer even more.
